After running a staff culture survey for the first time, the results “weren’t as great as we’d hoped,” Andrew admitted. “We started really looking into ways that we could engage our staff and figure out how to understand what their needs are—not just like at a once-a-quarter or once-a-year survey, but on a recurring basis.”

While the team worked hard and delivered great service, they didn’t always feel it was recognized. “They weren't feeling that we as ownership were appreciating what they were doing on a day-to-day basis,” Andrew said. “When you don't feel appreciated over time, you just kind of start to carry that burden.”
